This pen & ink design was for silk-screen T-Shirts and was worn by members of the Point of Impact (POI) BBS. In the days before the internet, online communities existed on regional computers (bulletin board systems) run by hobbyists. You selected a host whose style or topics appealed to your tastes and then applied for membership.
