Qualifying

CraigGiven.com offers design services to qualifying nonprofit organizations. Some of the services we render are logo designs, banner designs, illustrations for publication and on a rare occasion web site designs/redesigns. This site showcases some of our work in online galleries.

"Customers" must qualify for our free services because it would be dreadfully embarrassing for CraigGiven.com to design something for a satanic cult! The best method for qualifying is to be referred by a previous CraigGiven.com customer. If you can't get a referral, there are other resources you can try (see "Who else does this type of work?" below)

Scope of Service

In order to serve as many customers as possible CraigGiven.com focuses on its core competencies. In other words, the customer is responsible for the project pieces that are within the customer's skills and resources. This frees CraigGiven.com to provide those unique services that are beyond the grasp of the customers. For example, CraigGiven.com would create a T-shirt design and create the graphic files needed by the printer. The customer, on the other hand, would select a printer, negotiate payment, and arrange the pickup and delivery of the finished shirts. The nature of the project determines how much work CraigGiven.com and the customer will share (e.g., web site projects require about 50% to 70% from the customer). When a project stalls because of customer negligence, that project will receive a lower priority or will be discontinued.

Prerequisites

If your nomination is accepted, there are prerequisite assignments for customers. All customers must read the CraigGiven.com Graphic Design Guidelines. This document applies both to graphic and web projects. If your project is a web site then also read CraigGiven.com's Web Site Design Guidelines. These documents ask clarifying questions, identify areas of needed research, point out resources to be collected, and guide you in preliminary decisions. The products of these documents will be the basis for the first planning meeting.

Who Else Does This Type of Work?

CraigGiven.com is not alone in providing free graphic design or web design services. There are a whole host of services available, even beyond what CraigGiven.com can offer. You can visit Crosswalk's web site and find what's available. At the page http://directory.crosswalk.com/WebDirectory/ look under the "General Internet Resources" category. For web design, the subsections "Web Design Resources" or "Christian HTML/WWW Services" will offer many services to choose from.
