The name Pentex is a combination of two words. The first word is "pente" means "five" in Greek, and it represents the five phases of Pentex Bible Study. Each of these five phases begin with the X sound as their first syllable: eXamine, eXegete, eXemplify, eXpose, and eXpand. Therefore, 5 + X = Pentex, and you'll also notice that the logo is composed of five Xs.
